Finding Love

There was this really beautiful line I heard in some movie. It said –
Love isn’t something that somebody gives you. It’s something that you find.

Everyone wants love. And everyone waits for someone to hand it over to them. But when you say you’ve got to find it, the whole search for love becomes quite simpler.

So what makes finding love so hard?

We humans are so obsessed with any form of affection or love that we hold onto it with all our might. We hide our love deep inside the pockets of our consciousness and don’t let anybody have it. We’re selfish, and that’s what stops us from finding love elsewhere.

Until that one person does find it, and in that case, you’ll have to share it.

Now, it may look like love being given and love being found are the same.

But no, that’s not quite how it works. Giving is when you consciously make an effort to hand someone something. Finding is a little more intricate.

We’re always hiding, always running away from things that scare us. Never let our guard down, never show any weakness. We’re brick walls. And if all humans were brick walls, finding love would be near impossible. What we don’t realize is that we’re not the only ones looking for love, and if we want to find it ourselves, we’re gonna have to let someone find our love.

Who could this person be?

The person who breaks through the brick wall without setting off our “DANGER” alarms; the one who not only catches us off guard, but also makes it okay to let our guards down; the one who makes us feel safe, that’s the one who finds your love. They reach deep into your soul and grab the thing you don’t want to share with anyone.

And the most beautiful part is that we don’t seem to mind.

We let them find it. We let them take it. We know all too well that they can mishandle and break it, but we still allow it.

Because the risk is worth it.

So go out there and look for some love. No one’s going to hand it over to you. It’s our most prized possession. You’ve got to let someone find your love first, but moreover you’ve got to find the person who lets you find theirs.

And the day you do, you can say that you’re in love.

Kind of amazing, isn’t it?
